A siren can refer to an alarm horn or a mythological female presence.
Such as an alarm system, any siren is a forewarning, generally regarding a threat. Sirens (attractive females) are legendary sea nymphs who, by singing, lured mariners to their deaths. Because of what the sirens did, dreaming of them signifies temptations that will cause upheaval and disarray.
