Rapture is the time when the souls of the world are collected, those that have accepted the way of Jesus are raised into heaven and those that have not are damned to hell, eternity, or purgatory.
Different faiths have different understandings of the rapture, but when you have a dream usually the feeling is the same – you are either taken away to a better place or left behind. These kinds of dreams can be a reaction to a highly religious childhood and a fear of abandonment. Often these dreams are ones filled with regret, even if you are the one going to heaven. Dreams of the rapture are an indication that your life is never going to be the same and understanding that there are changes going on in your waking world which cannot be reversed.
