Victims are individuals who suffer as a result of some catastrophic event or situation which affects them in detrimental ways.
Being a victim refers to the situation causing you to lose something or to bring negativity to your life thus making your life less than what it was before it happened. Survivors are the antithesis of victims because even though the situation the person had to go through was horrific or hard in some way, they survived it and learned something new or it changed their life in a positive way.
